LOVE POTION #9

I titled this post, Love Potion #9 because this is my 9th love-fest of the year. Yep, wedding number 9! For not being a "wedding blog" per say, I have been doing a lot of wedding blogging.

This wedding was special because it was my good friend Lindsay's day to be a Bride and she married her sweet man, Trevor. I must say, Lindsay made a beautiful bride! You may remember her face from my previous post HERE where we did her promotional images for her music career.

Lindsay wore a wedding dress from Sarah Seven and vintage inspired shoes from Seychelles. Her "something old" was her bracelet which was made from a piece of lace from her mother's veil. Jessica Maros of SLEEVELESS made her a custom veil and necklace just for the occasion. I'm blown away by that veil!

I was a bridesmaid in this wedding, and I'll have to wait to get photos from the professional photog, Blu, to post pics of all of us girls together but here are some of my pics, in the meantime. All the girls wore Anthropologie dresses in different patterns and a navy/black/grey-green pallet with coral-colored pumps from Urban Outfitters.

They said their vows under old wooden arch decorated simply with flowers in old mason jars and milk jugs. The rings were in an old filigree box.

Lindsay walked down the aisle to Brandi Carlile's "The Story" and the wedding party walked in to "The Offer" by Katie Herzig. Here are some more snaps of all the little details that made this a great wedding...from the homemade ice cream and cobblers to the candles hanging from the trees and the precious childhood pics of Lindsay (coke bottle glasses) and Trevor (long hair, leather jacket and combat boots).

And I had to post this, because we really look like sisters straight out of someone's "Big Fat Greek Wedding!" Don't we look related?!

All in all, it was a great wedding weekend and I got to meet both of their wonderful families. I wish for them everything good that life has to offer...

A Kearney Wedding: MAT and ANNIE!

In case you missed this on OnceWed, I wanted to make sure I posted about yet another gorgeous wedding I attended this summer. None other than Annie's of this very Ivory Feather blog! If it seems like I've been on a wedding kick, it may have to do with the fact that we are going to 13 weddings this year! Yep, you heard right, THIRTEEN weddings! Come to think about it, I may not have any single friends after this year...crazy to think about!



Their wedding was so beautiful and the after party was so fun. A great testimony to the good friends and family that they have in their lives.

This just in! More Red, White and "Something Blue" Wedding

I just scoped out some "preview" pics from Alex Marvar who was one of the 3 pro photogs who documented the weekend. She's a singer, writer and freelancer for Vanity Fair and she does justice to some of my favorite moments of the whole weekend!

The night before their wedding, all of the wedding guests and the Bride and Groom went out to the Main Street in town and square danced the night away! Here they are in their square dancing duds at the Buxton Inn bar:

"Save your fork" was a touching memory of one of her Dad's favorite phrases. It signified his way of saying that "the best is yet to come". It was a significant part of the message during the ceremony and these signs were placed on the table. A perfect remembrance to a man who was a cornerstone for such a great family! Gotta love the Ford family!

Ok, I can't get enough of this wedding! What do you think? I'd love to hear from you!

Red, White and "Something Blue" - A Wedding Story

I went to the most beautiful, thoughtful, wedding on July 3rd at a little cabin built in 1881. I believe the story is that the owner built the cabin for his mistress as a romantic get-a-way. Whether or not that is a romantic notion, this wedding certainly was romantic, rustic, breath-taking and effortless all rolled into one. All the powers that engineered this event planned it in only 8 weeks or so!

This was my 8th wedding of 2010 and I have to say, that the love Leanne and Brad share is definitely to foundation of this memorable night. It may sound cheesy but their wedding was anything but. It authentically represented a couple who is so loving and kind and well, just plain cool. (If you know them, you will agree!) They are two very creative people (she's a wardrobe stylist and word-smith and he's a creative person at American Eagle) and their wedding was an accurate reflection of them.

My photos are a bit out of order, but you get the idea. Some of the highlights of the night were:

1. Sparklers that were brought out to dance with on the dance floor.
2. Bluegrass music by my friends Jon and Liz.
3. The wishing well where all the ladies stood around making wishes into an old (very old) well.
4. The small cabin that had been converted to a bar with dangling tea lights and roughly hewn tables.
5. Massive hydrangea blooms that graced the table and landscape.
6. Vintage colored glasses on the table.
7. An old table and mirror with tall candles in the port-a-potty digs.

These photos were taken with my cell phone that doesn't have a flash so I wasn't able to capture some of the moments once it got dark but not one detail was left unattended too!

It was a memorable evening, that is for sure!
